The Amalfi Coast, where to begin? I had high expectations for this destination and the Coast didn't disappoint.
What I wore:
Dress: Choies.com.
I bought this dress because I was inspired by one of Kourtney Kardashian's Italian looks. I also like the fact that it's white since the towns are already so colorful.
Shoes: Tory Burch.
Handbag: Gucci.
I only took three purses on the trip because I had to pack light. I made sure at least one of the bags was black so that it would go with everything.
Naples, Italy was our first stop of the day. I did a little research beforehand and booked an excursion from Naples to the Amalfi Coast. We woke up super early, hopped off the ship, and took a bus from Naples to Sorrento. I hadn’t heard much about Sorrento, so I was expecting it to be just a stepping stone to get to Amalfi. The town had a charm of its own and it was probably my favorite stop that day.
We then took a boat tour to the town of Amalfi. Amalfi's beach was a little more crowded than the others, but it was equally beautiful. Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast towns have a lot of shoppes, where you can buy authentic souvenirs and leather goods. It's important to note that there are lots of towns on the Amalfi Coast, so booking tours can get a little confusing. A local told us that the island of Capri and the town of Positano are currently the most exclusive spots. One of my personal favorites, is Atrani (pictured below).
Side note: My hair straightener overheated in Rome. Lesson learned: always take a power converter (not an adapter) for hair appliances! I resorted to blow drying my hair and then put it in a side braid (my go-to) because of the heat. This is a really messy version of a side braid. Nothing to see here...
There were so many hidden gems in Sorrento. Justin and I decided to ditch the tour to explore the town and found a beautiful walkway leading to a hotel. We walked to the hotel terrace and saw this breathtaking view of Mount Vesuvius.
Ristorante - Restaurant:
Pizzeria Aurora in Sorrento
The excursion included a three course meal and vino!
Make sure you have a lemon-based drink if you plan to travel to the Amalfi Coast. The area is known for its giant lemons and you’ll see lemon trees just about anywhere you go. I had the best lemonade slushy, but I forgot to take a picture of it. Yes, it was that good!
Anddd, I made it through the day without falling into the water or on the rocks!
