HEY, GUYS! I'm in my blogging era again.
I may or may not have a trip or two planned soon, which I'm super excited about...
The anticipation of traveling again made me get in my blogging feels. I decided to catch y'all up on some of my trips from 2021 through present.
First, let's start with this anniversary/birthday trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in November 2021. My husband and I celebrate our wedding anniversary on November 15th and my birthday is on November 22nd. He knows my favorite hobby is traveling and let me talk him into another trip. I was turning 30!!! I also just realized this is my 30th blog post!
This trip was very different, however. I was still at a newbie at my job at the time, we were in between places, and looking to buy our first house (let me know if you want a house vlog, too). We were TIRED! We decided we just wanted to relax at a tropical resort, where we could just sleep, wander on site, and eat!
We landed on The Level at Meliá, Punta Cana Beach Resort.
Overall, I'd say the experience was what we needed at the time: a comfortable room, all inclusive food and drinks, and good service. We had a personal concierge who attended to our wants and needs. He offered us excursion packages, but we declined.
We truly just wanted a relaxing vacation.

My 30th birthday celebration started with this trip and ended back home with my hubby, family, and friends. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday.
I felt truly grateful to reach a new decade.

This was our first trip abroad post-COVID! We had contracted COVID a couple of months before the trip! It affected our sense of taste at the time (mainly Justin's). If I could do it all again (with my current energy levels), I would've liked to explore Punta Cana more and to have tried authentic Dominican food in the area. The Level at Meliá had numerous restaurants, but none with real Dominican cuisine or street food. That's just my style. I like to wander around and experience the culture. This was more of an "Americans want to go vacay in a bubble" type of vacation. Even for that, I'd recommend Cancun over Punta Cana. That's my honest review!
One of our cruise stops during our honeymoon in 2019 was in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic (also on the blog, titled "Caribbean Honeymoon") . I prefer Puerto Plata because you get a more authentic experience and get to see the colonial side of DR. I'm glad we went and had the experience in Punta Cana. We both agreed it would most likely be the last time we visited this city. One and done!

At this point, I was starting to get brand deals. I was SO EXCITED. I received this comfy PJ set from Cozy Earth. I took my tripod out and got the shots for the ad!
The resort had a lot of spas and cute lounging areas. Justin and I really enjoyed this area like a playground. They also had a lot of animals just doing their thing, and a waterpark for kids!
