DESTINATION: DUBAI

I'm so excited to share my favorite places to visit in Dubai! I've been slacking on being consistent on the blog (especially due to the holidays), but I will try to do better this year! During my first trip to Dubai back in 2015, I did most of the typical tourist things like go on a desert safari, visit Abu Dhabi and the gorgeous Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, go to the top of the Burj Khalifa, etc. This time, naturally, I wanted to go to places I hadn't gone to before. My main goal was to visit different rooftops to see the epic Dubai skyline in a different light. I was in Dubai for 5 days. I didn't get the chance to see the Burj Al Arab before so that was one of our first tourist attractions on this trip. We raced over to see it because the sun was setting. Fortunately, we got there just in time...

THE BURJ AL ARAB

The Burj Al Arab is known as the most luxurious hotel in the world. These pictures were taken from a beach nearby.

Outfit details:

Dress: Zara

I bought this dress at the Dubai Mall. I really like how modern it looks yet it's still pretty conservative. Chains are also very in style at the moment!

Handbag: Chanel

I wore this handbag with every outfit. It's just a classic!

Hat: Shein

Shoes (not pictured): Chanel

(you'll see them paired with another outfit towards the end of this post)

The first time I went to Dubai, was in August of 2015. This trip was in November (two months ago), and it was WAY BETTER temperature-wise. It was blazing hot the first time I went and it got up to 115 degrees one day! This time, the weather was in the mid 80s for the most part, which is still pretty hot, but bearable.

THE BURJ KHALIFA, THE DUBAI MALL, AND THE DUBAI FOUNTAIN:

This was right before the Dubai Fountain show started.

Outfit details:

Dress: Shein

I decided to wear it with an undershirt because I needed to dress more conservatively. In Dubai, you don't want to show too much!

Shoes: Tory Burch

The Dubai Mall is enormous, so make sure you wear comfortable shoes!

Another look at the snakeskin print dress

Rooftop bars and restaurants:

1. Level 43

This was my absolute favorite rooftop. As soon as I walked out to the patio, I heard one of my favorite Latin songs playing. The DJ played Latin music practically the whole time I was there. The view was amazing and you can even see the Burj Khalifa.

Outfit details:

Shirt: Shein

I liked it because I thought it was quirky ("guilty," not Gucci). I paired it with a black blazer from TJ Maxx (not pictured).

Pants: Fashion Nova

These are my favorite pants because they're high waisted. I wear them way too much!

Heels: Francesca's

2. Treehouse Dubai

I was more excited about Treehouse because I thought it looked cuter in pictures, but honestly I liked Level 43 better. Treehouse's crowd was a little more uppity. It still had a gorgeous view. Also, they had a lineup of exotic cars, like the Lambo pictured below.

Tip: pictures at Treehouse would look better during the day!

Treehouse is located at the Taj hotel... The lobby was gorgeous!

THE DUBAI MIRACLE GARDEN

I was SO excited to go to the Miracle Garden! I had seen pictures with these hearts on Instagram before, but I had no idea this place was in Dubai. It was a 30 minute drive from our hotel in a developing part of Dubai. It felt like Disney World! The entrance fee was about $13.

Outfit details:

Dress: Shein

I thought it would be the perfect place to wear this dress because of the flower details. The lace gives it a romantic vibe. Plus, it's pink!

I wore the same handbag and heels (trick to packing light: black accessories).

Mickey!!! This is by the entrance of the Miracle Garden.

Fly Emirates - it's a real airplane covered in flowers!

One of my favorites!

And we ate at Pizza Hut inside the Garden lol

THE BURJ KHALIFA (part dos)

It's extremely hard to get a picture with the Burj Khalifa. If you want to get a picture of the whole building, it's usually an awkward angle. Here, we walked to the end of the Dubai Mall and Justin took these pictures by laying on the ground. Then, I did the same for him! lol

Outfit details:

Shirt dress: Forever 21

Jean jacket: American Eagle

Pleather leggings: Walmart

You can dress up an outfit with pleather leggings. I can wear these with everything, from day to night!

Shoes & Handbag: Chanel

I treated myself to these Chanel espadrilles last year. They're perfect for a vacation! This was my most comfortable outfit and it was one of my favorites.

ATLANTIS HOTEL, THE PALM DUBAI

This is one of the best hotels in Dubai. There's a mall inside and an aquarium. Some rooms even have full on aquariums in them. If you watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians, you might have seen the episode where the family stays at this hotel (the one where Scott gets caught with a girl in his bathroom). Anyway...

FEATURED RESTAURANT: AL GRISSINO

This Italian restaurant was recommended by a friend and it was THE BEST! I still think about the pasta I had there. The staff was also very pleasant and friendly.

Coming here was very last minute, so my outfit didn't really go with the theme lol. This is the perfect place to wear a fancy dress!

Breadsticks and the amuse-bouche.

The best pasta ever! Also, since the UAE is a Muslim country, not every restaurant has bacon. This one DID!

The view was pretty incredible - almost futuristic. I didn't want to take pictures, but I made sure to take this picture of the dining area.

That's all folks!

xo, Raquel
