Need inspo for what to wear when you have a dinner date straight after work? Say no more! Finding work clothes that still make you feel cute or help you express your own style can be tough! Sometimes you have to adhere to outfit guidelines, but there are still ways to be yourself in the workplace. Here’s my take on a work outfit that works in and out of the office...
OUTFIT DETAILS:
Coat: Shein
Not all heroes wear capes, but sometimes it’s fun! This coat is currently $14 on shein.com. I don't normally go for "chic" looks, but it's good to switch it up every now and then. Green is also very trendy right now!
Sidenote: my lipstick here is from Colorpop. I like how I unknowingly paired the green coat with Barney purple.
Leggings: TJ Maxx
Dress: Forever 21
This dress is so versatile. I folded the bottom of it to make it look like a shirt when I went to dinner. This also makes it acceptable to wear leggings to work!
Boots: Gabe's
Formerly known as Rugged Warehouse, Gabe's has a lot of good deals... These booties were under $20.
Handbag: Kate Spade
This handbag was a Christmas gift from my fiancé. I wear it almost every day to work because it's spacious and it looks professional. I added an Eiffel Tower keychain to it just because.
Featured Restaurant: La Belle Helene, Charlotte, NC
La Belle Helene is a French inspired restaurant in Uptown Charlotte. The food is as good as the atmosphere. I ordered the "Salade La Belle Helene" with French fries on the side (because it's a French restaurant, of course). Their biscuits are SO good!
Tip: if you're planning on eating dinner here, don't forget to make a reservation... even if you go on a weekday. My friend and I didn't, but we were happy to sit at the bar.

Fun fact about LBH's bathroom: they have a gender neutral bathroom. A lot of women, including us, were confused when we noticed a man walking out of a stall. It is authentically European!
Also, the art on the wall is backwards so that you can read it when you look in the mirror
