Layovers can be fun if they're done right! My dad planned our trip to Dubai and he arranged to have overnight layovers in Munich, Germany and Zurich, Switzerland. This was my third time in Munich. I was extra excited to go this time because this trip was my birthday present from my fiancé. It was also our first time going together! I'm glad we went in November because Munich was already decked out in Christmas decorations!
We made sure to visit Marienplatz, which is a huge, public square. If you only have time to go to one place in Munich, this is the place to go! Marienplatz has all sorts of stores, shopping centers, and restaurants. There was also a market close by that had handmade Christmas items, flowers, and food. Although Munich is a big city, the quirky stores really give it a small town feel.
Viktualienmarkt (Victuals Market)
Marienplatz
Big tip: when in Germany, don't forget to eat a pretzel! Also, if you go, make sure to visit Neuschwanstein Castle, which is about an hour and forty minutes from Munich. This castle was the inspiration for Sleeping Beauty's castle! I went in 2010 and I would definitely go again, especially during the winter.
What I wore:
Coat: Shein
I bought this coat specifically for this trip because I really wanted to wear a bold coat. This fuzzy, hot pink coat was perfect for Munich's weather. It actually wasn't very cold that day and the coat wasn't as warm as I thought it would be, so it worked.
Leggings & Shirt: TJ Maxx
I wore a dark gray, long-sleeved shirt and black leggings. I didn't intend to wear that shirt with that outfit, but unfortunately my big suitcase was sent straight to Dubai. I could only wear what I packed into my carry-on bag. If I had the choice, I probably would've worn a lighter colored top or a black-and-white striped top with this outfit instead.
Shoes: Fashion Nova
I LOVE these boots! They were very comfortable to walk in and I'm obsessed with studs on boots. I paired these boots with the coat because they were spunky as well.
Handbag: Louis Vuitton "Neverfull"
This was my "airport" bag because everything fits into it (neverfull).
