Welcome back, fam! I'm so excited to finally recap my trip to Miami for my third wedding anniversary in November 2022. It also coincided with TikTok's "Casa TikTok on Tour" event. I had already used up most of my vacation days at the time, so I worked remotely one day and then enjoyed the weekend full of Miami heat!
We were there for 5 days and 4 nights, which was plenty of time to explore various neighborhoods.
MIAMI FASHION DISTRICT
WHAT I WORE:
Since the trip was on short notice, I bought all four of my dresses from
Vici Collection #vicidolls :)
I went with Shein jeans/crop top, and an Amazon bodysuit for the last two outfits.
Growing up, most of my state-side family lives in Florida, so we road tripped to Miami more times than I can remember. However, this was my first time visiting the Fashion District. While we were there, I remembered I wanted to check out Dior Café at the Dior store. We waited in line for a few minutes and made our way up the elevator to the beautiful, jungle-like café...
While we were in the area, we checked out the stores and Justin bought me some anniversary and birthday presents <3 I also took advantage of the scenery and did some content creation for a MVMT ad. My caption then still describes my mood about this trip: "when her love language is quality time but she doesn't mind gifts."
The Fendi salesperson was Venezuelan, so it made the experience that much sweeter.
We stayed at Esmé Miami Beach beautifully situated in the historic Española Way.
Location: 1438 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33139
This was our Uber pick-up spot...
SOUTH BEACH
I can't go to Miami and not buy Venezuelan arepas.
I got the "Reina pepiada" and "tequeños" <3
ESMÉ
The hotel has romantic alleyways and a cute pink pool area.
THE LOBSTER SHACK
Without a doubt, the best spot! We had all sorts of food during the trip, as pictured above and below, but we went to The Lobster Shack twice!
It has the best lobster rolls!
Honorable mention: La Sandwicherie *not pictured*
It's a French sandwich shop by the beach. We went there 2-3 times (once during my lunch break). It was SO GOOD and open from 7 AM to 5 AM!!!
CASA TIKTOK ON TOUR
Spanglish Miami - Restaurant & Cocktail Bar
A month after my first TikTok event in Los Angeles, I got to experience the TikTok, Miami style. The event was in the Wynwood at Spanglish. They served epic food and drinks, which created the perfect atmosphere for unforgettable connections with creators (the best part of these events). As a Hispanic, you know you'll meet different Hispanic nationalities in different states. In LA, TikTok allowed us to indulge in the Mexican experience at Casita Del Campo restaurant.
Miami had the Caribbean/Latin vibe! I got to meet so many creators I look up to (and honestly fan girl over) including Doctor Daisy Sanchez, Wini Alvarez, and so many others! I'm truly thankful to be a part of the "Casa TikTok" alumni. Although I couldn't make it due to scheduling conflicts, they were gracious enough to invite me to this year's event a few days ago.
I hope to reconnect with the community *in person* pronto!
Met the queen of professional attire @quepasoyaya on TikTok (pictured below)!
On our last night, we went to 11th Street Diner and then wandered the lively Española Way.
Right before catching our flight, we went back to South Beach which was just a short walk away from our hotel.
I'm so grateful for my #husbae (husband + bae)! I couldn't ask for a better partner and best friend. I never thought I would have attended one, much less two, TikTok events last year, but he said let's go! It's not easy for small-town creators to attend creator events since they're usually in metropolitan cities. Justin has been my biggest supporter and motivates me to dream bigger!
I look forward to celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks! This may be my last blog post for a while, so follow my journey on
social media: @AbogadaRaquel and @RaquelGoforth on most platforms!
